The prayer before studying
בְּרָכָה קֹדֶם הַלִּמּוּד
יהוה our God and God of our fathers, look at us from Your Holy Dwelling, at us - Your imperfect servants, who stand in front of you. Give us a sensitive heart, so we are able to accept smart advices from the mouths of our teachers and our educators, to fear Your Name and to serve You sincerely for all of the days of our lives.
Do not turn Your Face away from us and do not take away Your Holy Spirit from us.
Our God! You, who give the victory to kings, bless our monarch Tsar Nikolai Alexandrovich and his whole family, bless also our parents, teachers and educators who bring us benefit. Amen!
יְהוָֹה אֱלֹהֵינוּ וֵאלֹהֵי אֲבוֹתֵינוּ הַשְׁקִיפָה מִמְּעוֹן קָדְשְׁךָ ﬠָלֵינוּ עַל עֲבָדֶיךָ הַצְעִירִים הָאֵלֶּה הָעוֹמְדִים לְפָנֶיךָ׃
בְּרָא לָנוּ לֵב נָכוֹן לָקַחַת מוּסָר הַשְׂכֵּל מִפִּי מְלַמְּדֵינוּ וּמוֹרֵינוּ לִלְמֹד לְיִרְאָה אֶת שִׁמְךָ וּלְעָבְדְךָ בֶּאֱמֶת וּבְתָמִים כָּל יְמֵי חַיֵּינוּ אַל תַשְׁלִיכֵנוּ מִלְּפָנֶיךָ וְרוּחַ קָדְשְׁךָ אַל תִקַּח מִמֶּנּוּ׃
אֱלֹהֵינוּ אַתָּה הַנֹּתֵן תְשׁוּעָה לַמְּלָכִים בָּרֵךְ אֶת אֲדוֹנֵנוּ מַלְכֵּנוּ הַקֵּסַר הַגָּדוֹל נִיכּוֹלַאי אָלֶכְּסַנְדְרוֹוִיץ עִם כָּל בְּנֵי בֵּיתוֹ וּמִשְׁפַּחְתוֹ הָרָמָה׃
וּבָרֵךְ גַּם אֶת הוֹרֵינוּ מוֹרֵינוּ וּמְלַמְּדֵינוּ לְהוֹעִיל אָמֵן׃
